Regional Program for Excellence
Regional Program for Excellence (RPE) offers selected high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to explore career options through a summer or school year internship of 72 - 75 hours. The Summer Session begins in July and usually runs for five weeks. Generally, students spend half days with mentors.
The School Year Session begins in October and runs for 24 weeks concluding in early April. Students are excused from school for half a day each week (three hours) to meet with mentors. Every effort is made to work schedules around bridge programs, especially challenging courses and science labs.
RPE staff design an individual program for each participant to meet unique interests and needs. An RPE experience helps students make more focused academic and career plans - saving time and money at the college level.
